Join us in Tequisquipan, Mexico in January 2025 for a unique watercolor workshop experience in old Mexico. The maximum accommodation for this workshop is 10 people, so space is limited.

The trip includes 7 days of accommodations, 5 days of painting, meals and transportation to and from the airport in Queretaro. Meals include all breakfast and lunches provided by a private chef at the Villa, a farewell dinner/celebration with music in the Villa. Accommodations including double occupancy rooms, en plain air, tours and a private cooking class. The workshop does not include air fare, trip insurance, tips, meals other than those noted and optional activities such as massage, yoga and private wine tasting.

Cost is $1675.00 USD based on double occupancy .  There is a $350 cost to upgrade to single occupancy. We encourage travelers to travel together and share a room since space is limited. A deposit of $300.00 is required to be submitted when making this reservation. 

This trip will include a week long stay in Tequis, Mexico including daily indoor watercolor workshop and plein air painting and sketching in the town of Tequis, Mexico and urban sketching in surrounding regions.

This watercolor workshop will include 5 days of painting including the basics of watercolor, urban sketching & painting and how to compose and paint impressionistic watercolor paintings.  The class will include sketching basics, in-class watercolor instruction on a simple 3 step process of painting, urban pencil and ink sketching techniques and en-plein air painting in the village and surrounding areas of Tequisquiapan.

Class Description:

Join professional watercolor artist Al Kline in a 3-day classroom watercolor workshop for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels who would like to learn the basics and introduction to watercolor. The class will demonstrate basic drawing skills in order to hand-draw, construct, compose and paint in watercolor. Tonal studies, sketching, compositional design and textural painting in watercolor will be covered in order to create a convincing watercolor painting. The instructor will describe and demonstrate an impressionistic approach to watercolor painting.
